A PROFILE OF GROWTH

It all started in January 1974 as a single proprietorship venture named SIERRA COMMERCIAL. Initially, the company engaged in the marketing of petroleum products and after a year of operation, waterproofing services was added to the company’s marketing line. Later on, in 1976, Tennis Courts construction was included in its expanding ventures. Two years later, the company developed its own formulation of a special fishnet coating which was subsequently patented in the company’s name when a Japanese firm have approved it for use in their product. The manufacturing plant and warehouse is situated in a 800 sq.m. lot in Barangay Sauyo, Novaliches, Quezon City.

In 1980, civil works construction was included in the company’s business line and operations in this field extend from Metro Manila to different provinces throughout the country.

Through the years, the company has grown extensively and because of this, SIERRA COMMERCIAL was organized into a corporation in 1988. Since then, all transactions of the company had been and are being done under the corporate name SIERRA UNIVERSAL CORPORATION.

During the same year, a leading manufacturer of synthetic rubber appointed the company as the exclusive agent of their product, which is being used as surfacing for track and field ovals and playcourts.

As the doors continue to open, in 1996, another quality manufacturer, designer and installer of sports equipment and facilities appointed the company as its exclusive cooperation partner in the Philippines. And since that time, the company has started to market quality sports equipment and accessories.

And as it has been since the company’s humble beginning – it keeps on growing.
